Knitspiration - your south bay knitting guild
Knitspiration of Silicon Valley is a TKGA-affiliated knitting guild for Santa Clara County in the SF Bay area. Our goal is support and encourage one another towards excellence in knitting through education, group discussion, and sharing.
What is a guild?
- a monthly meeting with planned topics related to knitting and fiber arts
- a supportive group of knitters who can cheer you on while you try new skills
- a good place to meet knitters interested in the TKGA Master Knitter program
- a great place to get started teaching about knitting
Monthly meetings
Knitspiration guild meets 7 - 9 pm on the second Thursday of the month in the Yarn Dogs Annex in Los Gatos, CA.
All knitters are welcome at our monthly meetings. If you decide to join, membership costs a mere $12/year which is used to pay our guest instructors.

- Knit a Flower Pin from Silk Hankies
- Amy will show us how to knit a flower pin from hand dyed silk hankies. Silk hankies (also known as matawa) are stacks of silk cocoons stretched into square layers. They are often used as spinning fiber, but no spinning is required for this project!

- Share shopping strategies and must-visit booths. Bring something awesome you bought last year (or the year before...or the year before that...) to show and tell.

- Magic Loop circular knitting
- You've heard the buzz - Magic Loop is a slick method for in-the-round knitting. Come try it out with Marcia. We'll walk through casting on and knitting, discuss when to use magic loop vs dpns, and work a super-quick wrist warmer with our new technique.

- I Can Knit that -- with a little help from my friends :-)
- ave you spotted the perfect sweater -- maybe in a ready-to-wear catalog, or in a movie, or on the runway at fashion week -- that you wish you could knit? In this group participation session, we will examine photos, check stitch patterns and plan our sweaters. Bring your inspiration photo and yarn ideas with.
